Log homeowner by fate, log home dealer by choice. After having bought 25 acres in Stokes County, N.C. and laboring over plans for a home for two years, the killing of time changed our lives. Before the building of our new conventional home was to begin, Jackie and I decided to take a long weekend to the mountains of Tennessee. While killing time there, we walked into a log home model. Our plans changed that day. As a builder I had to have many questions to be answered and since Al Gore didn't have the Internet at full speed, we had to travel and look and did so for three years. |

Applachian Log Homes product the very stable old growth Hemlock logs and functional chink joint answered my main question, weather tightness. Our home is a rectangular one and one half story home with an inset front porch, a lean to sunroom on the rear and a large bathroom extended to the left just off the master bedroom. The kitchen, dining area and great room are one open area. The great room is open to the loft above complete with entertainment center. A very feminine suite designed for our daughter takes the rest of the loft. A 12' wide shed dormer assures that the second bath is also very large |
